David Burke Music

David graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in voice from Weber State University where he attended on a vocal scholarship. He has also commenced a Master of Music program. David is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and sings with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

He has been a member of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir for a total of over 7 years. In the Choir, David has had the opportunity of performing in the opening ceremonies of 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and has the opportunity of performing with the King's Singers, Gladys Knight, Bryn Terfel, Donny Osmond, Sting, etc. (this list could go on for some time!). David has also sung in the Choir under the direction of John Williams. Of these opportunities, singing at the Nauvoo Temple Dedication has had the greatest significance for David.

David's resume also includes work as a private voice teacher for many years, and has also taught, as a public school teacher, middle school and high school choirs.

In addition to the two C.D.s, and the C.D./Songbook, David has published choral arrangements, i.e. Christmas Mix.

David, his wife Amanda, and their children reside in North Salt Lake, Utah.

Hymns Volume I is a C.D./songbook combo of solo hymn arrangements by David Burke. This includes a songbook of 5 hymn arrangements for vocal and piano performance, a C.D. of 5 performance tracks of David's smooth and versatile voice singing with piano accompaniment and 5 piano accompaniment tracks for practical uses ie. church settings, firesides, to sing with at home, or for your enjoyment!

The C.D. David Burke features David's arrangement of John Rutter's 'For the Beauty of the Earth,' and includes contributions from musicians such as Barry Gibbons (assistant producer), Brett Raymond, Michael Dowdle, Rob Honey, and Todd Sorensen. There are 11 songs on the C.D., 10 of which are original by David.

Songs of the Times is David’s first solo C.D. His versatile and soothing voice is heard throughout this collection of original inspirational songs - songs which carry their own fresh sound. He wrote the words and music, arranged and/or orchestrated all songs, and is the album’s producer.
